The only MF combine left is the Ideal and AGCO has decided to label them Fendt for NA. In the rest of the world you can get MF combines even the Ideal is badged MF. Merry Christmas everyone.

Double what you pay for the combine to make repairs the first year. Than plan on 10% of the price of the combine in repairs yearly. SO if you find a machine for $10k, plan on $10K repairs right of the bat, and then $1K every year. If you don't have this expense - you got lucky! Always carry a large fire extinguisher in the combine.

Way back when, combine "class" was determined by the # of straw walkers a combine had! A class 4 machine had 4 walkers! Since most walkers were the same width, it gave a real close comparison on threshing area size. Obviously that is long gone!

Once the combine shaft is correct speed and header running your MacDon guy would need to check the sickle speed to make sure it is correct. That is adjustable down by the pump on the header. As others have mentioned on here before, the MacDon books that come with the header are GREAT!
