Tyler Roehl will leave the Detroit Lions to return to Iowa State football as OC, according to multiple reports.

Roehl was the assistant head coach and running backs coach for one year at Iowa State in 2024 before joining the Lions.

Both schools are going through coaching transitions with Matt Campbell leaving Iowa State for Penn State and Chris Klieman announcing his retirement.

"We played our absolute best," said Iowa State coach TJ Otzelberger. "When you play an elite competitor and tremendous program, and have the respect we have for the program, you know it's going to take your best, and we were fortunate enough to do that. We made enough shots and made enough plays." Indeed, they did. They've been doing it all season.

The Iowa State Fair released its first teaser photos for two of the 2026 Grandstand acts. On Tuesday, the fair released the photos below on its Facebook page. Some people in the comments section of the post guessed that one of the artists was Lainey Wilson.

Iowa State has certainly looked the part of a contender, steamrolling basically every opponent they have faced. The only team that has kept a game closer than 16 points has been the St. John’s Red Storm, who the Cyclones defeated in thrilling fashion in their first game of the Players Era Festival, 83-82.
